Sure. But, without seeing the type of faux, I really can't help.

What I'd do (the price is GREAT) is sand it lightly, prime it, and paint it the main color you want.

Then I'd go to PAINT store, NOT HOME DEPOT OR LOWE'S and buy a graining tool. They are easy to use, but you do need to practice. Ask the customer service person any questions you may have. If you want a "wood" grain, that's the tool.
